Baby Care Basics (Virtual Workshop)

Baby Care Basics is a virtual session which welcomes families with babies between the ages of 1 to 6 months for an informal and collaborative educational session about baby care including sleep, solids, skin care and safety. The group is a one-time group with up to 15 families per session and there is no cost to participate.

The groups will be facilitated via Zoom (secure video via healthcare version of Zoom) by Dr. Jeanette Pedersen and Dr. Justine Spencer.

All babies at South Hill Health and South Community Birth Program are welcome to attend.

Motherlode Postpartum Series

This group is intended for mothers who are struggling with any form of depression, anxiety or being overwhelmed in the postpartum period (baby or toddler up to 3 years of age). The group runs once a week for 6 weeks and covers information on diagnosis, symptoms and treatments of depression, anxiety & just simply feeling overwhelmed. Self-care is an important focus that is woven into the 6 week course with specific sessions on nutrition, exercise, sleep, making time for yourself and gathering supports. We review goal setting together each week, specific to your self-care and well-being. For the continuity and cohesiveness of the group, it is important that you commit to attending all six sessions. Groups are facilitated by Dr. Maralyn Hope. The Motherlode group runs for 6 weeks on Wednesdays starting June 3 - July 8 virtually through zoom.

Participation is limited and fills up quickly! If you are interested but this group if full, we will add your name to a waitlist for the next session. These groups are run ongoing throughout the year and are not drop-in, you must be registered to attend.

Options for Sexual Health Clinic


Every Thursday evening, we hold the South Hill Opt clinic, which is a sexual health clinic that provides sexual and reproductive health services for all genders, all orientations and all ages. Services include low-cost contraception, IUD insertions, STI care, Pap screening, pregnancy testing and pregnancy options counselling.

This clinic is separate from the South Hill Family Practice clinic. Everyone is welcome to attend and must go through Options for Sexual Health for booking.
